Push Lawn Mower VS Ride on Lown Mower

People considering buying a lawn mower often end up being in a catch-22 situation because they can’t choose between a push lawn mower and riding mower. If you intend to make the best choice between the two for your garden or lawn, then you should consider following aspects:

      1.   Lawn’s Size:

Your lawn’s size would play a key role when it comes to choosing between both the mowers. As a general rule of thumb, if the size of your lawn is approximately ½ acre, then you should consider getting a push mower. Anything more than ½ acres, you should definitely go with a riding mower. The old saying “Time is Money” stands true in this case, so choose the mower wisely.

      2.  Lawn’s Shape:

Another crucial aspect that you need to consider while choosing between both these mowers is the contour of the lawn. Assess the exact shape and landscaping of your lawn. If there are lot of obstacles such as trees, plants or bushes in your lawn, then you’d have to repeatedly get on and off the mower. These obstacles will consume a lot of your precious time. So, in such a case, you should consider a push mower. However, if there’s no such obstacles in your lawn, then you should positively go with a riding mower.

      3.  Fencing:

If you have fenced your lawn, then you need to measure the gate’s width. Depending upon the size of the gate, you would have to choose the mower. For instance, it would not be possible for you to ride a 42 inch wide mower from a 32 inch gate. For safety precautions, you would have to go with a push lawn mower, but if you don’t mind replacing the gate, then you can always consider choosing riding mower.

Once you’re done analyzing various aspects of your lawn, you would be in a better position to make the final decision on choosing between both these types of mowers.
